Description

A mechanical device which may consist of a group of items such as tow ball, sheave, cable catch, tow hood, cable cutter and the like. The assembly may be integrated with other components which sense cable play out/takeup, load sensing, cable damping and surging. The cable catch mechanism captures a tow knot, which then holds the towed body secure for carriage. The device applies to wire, rope, line or other types of cable. The assembly is designed to deploy and retrieve various airborne mine countermeasure systems.
